Adobe Flash Player Activex Latest Update: What's New and How to Get It

Adobe removed the flash player download link from their website in 2021. Even if you have a spare copy of the installer on your computer, it still won't work as it's an "online installer" that retrieves a copy of the latest version from Adobe's website, which Adobe also deleted in 2021 so the installers Adobe provided for free download in 2020 won't work in 2021.

The kill switch adobe uses, changes the EnableAllowList value in mms.cfg from 0 to 1 by force, so even if you change it to 0 Flash will ignore it after 12/01/21 and still keep it as 1. What this means is that instead of flash being enabled for all websites, you now have to whitelist every website you want flash to run on.

This is my solution, just tested. Unfortunately there are still website which haven't been updated since Flash EOL, some of them quite relevant (in my case was the United Nations website).Since recent version of flash player have the notorious kill switch there is no way to make it working with a modern browser, I also tried some emulator like Ruffle, but none of them fully support Action Script 3.0 which a lot of the flash applications have. Solution is described here: install Flash Player 32 which is the last one without the killswitch and use a browser that still support Flash, in my case Waterfox. Everything works!

Windows Update in Win 7 does not update Internet Explorer Flash (the Flash Active X component), but your central Adobe Flash update settings might be set to auto update or you may have manually installed the latest version of flash..

If you still have the message you need the projector variation (formerly know as standalone player) which can be found at where there are alot of links. Currently "Download the Flash Player projector" is the link you want. The downloaded file is the player itself not an installer. You will have to associate the Flash file type .swf with the flashplayer projector. I suggest copying the flashplayer file you downloaded to a location like a folder at c:/flashplayer/ with a name of flashplayer.exe to permit updating without having to reassociate the file type .swf for every new version. Associate the filetype by searching for .swf from the start button, click on one of the .swf files, choose browse when the open with window opens, find the flashplayer folder and the flashplayer.exe check the always use box then click open then click ok. Very important, you will have to update this file manually, there is no automatic updater.

Since the Adobe Flash Player license prohibits redistribution, our installer will download the flash player installer from the Internet Archive. Internet Archive is a respectable non-profit library which, in contrast to Adobe official website, still hosts the Adobe Flash distributions.

Download flashplayer32_0r0_371_winax.exe installation file from the Internet Archive. Internet Archive is a respectable non-profit library which, in contrast to Adobe official website, still hosts the Adobe Flash distributions.

Gnash flash player is another app that comes as a standalone desktop player and a web browser plugin. It supports all Flash-based multimedia formats and serves as a great alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Mac. As a plugin, Gnash is available in many popular browsers. Its version for Windows, however, has not received updates since 2012, so it provides no support for SWF version 10. You can download Gnash here.

Gonna reply to this old topic with hope that someone figured this one out. We have the same problem. Flash player cannot be removed because it was on the computer when it was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Has anyone figured out how to actually get this software off Windows? The new flash uninstaller from Microsoft doesn't work. That removes the built in flash from Windows 10. It doesn't remove the flash that is in IE. Using the flash uninstaller files and tools will say that they worked but they did not.

FIX for Missing Adobe Flash ActiveX Control:this fix allows you to run Flash in Internet Explorer as well as in alot of desktop apps that embed the ActiveX control.1- download this file: _/ _flash_player_ax.exe2- right click on downloaded file, Properties -> Compatibility -> Compatibility modecheck "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 7" and Apply .3- Now install and done. 2ff7e9595c
